Biography

Tom Bolger was born and raised in Kilkenny, Ireland and comes from a family steeped in music. Tom has been writing from an early age and during the passage of time he has developed his own unique style. Tom writes songs that are evocative, universal stories of the heart delivered with clear sensitivity and passion. Those who have been lucky to see Tom perform live in the United States or across Europe know the captivating and mesmerising truth of his illustrated musical story telling.

Tom has reached the final of the internationally acclaimed songwriters competition “Dun Laoghaire Song Contest” three years in a row. The songs “Now that we’re thru”, “Never” (both from “The Wish”) and “This is me”, recieved great reviews on R.T.E. national radio.

A song he co-wrote in the IMRO song workshop in Killarney went on to be voted into the top 10 songs written that year in the “Bacardi / Hot Press song of the year” competition.

Tom’s song, “One Life” appears on the “Celtic Connections” CD, which features 20 of the top emerging writers and artists from Wales and Ireland.

Tom has a song featuring on the recently released LIVE AT THE VAULTS C.D. which was launched on the 15th May 2007.Great c.d. worth checking out. Something to look forward in September 2007 is the release on D.V.D OF Kim Fowleys latest film featuring two of Toms Tracks.The film was shot on location in California and is due to be released in U.S.A and Europe . In successive years Tom has had his songs “Somethings Wrong” and “Falling Again” (also taken from “The Wish”) highly merited in the top 10% of the “Unisong” Songwriters competition against entries from over 50 countries.

Having worked and recorded with Ireland’s finest, Tom has long been recognised as a new force in Irish song writing. With the release of “The Wish” it is a certain gasp of relief that Tom Bolger’s recordings can be heard. There’s lots more in the pipeline too.
